Anker launches Soundcore Sport X10 sports headphones: retail price $79

Sports headphones that focus on fitness usually take two options: they either come with ear wings to help hold them in place (similar to the Sennheiser Sport) or they use a wrap-around ear hook that hangs directly over the ear to hold them in place (similar to the Powerbeats Pro). Now, Anker has introduced the Soundcore Sport X10 headphones with the latter design, retailing for $79.

The X10 features a bass-forward sound signature, IPX7 sweat and water resistance, and up to 8 hours of continuous battery life (or 32 hours, including case charging). They are now available in black or white, with red coming later.

Anker says the rotatable ear hooks allow you to “adjust the wearing angle to ensure the earbuds are comfortably seated in place to prevent them from falling out during strenuous exercise.” Each earbud weighs 4.4 grams, which is much lighter than other competitors like Powerbeats or the JBL Endurance Peak II.

While the Soundcore X10 earbuds are designed to be bass-heavy out of the box, Anker says you can use its mobile app to turn off the default “BassUp” EQ setting, or choose from more than 20 other presets if you prefer something more balanced. If you’re running or exercising outdoors, the X10s has a “hybrid noise cancellation” feature that helps eliminate background noise, according to the company. There’s also a transparency mode for situations where you need to zoom in on your surroundings.

Their IPX7 means the X10 can safely be “rinsed under the tap or fountain after a workout,” and with a total of six microphones on board (as well as a windproof setting), Anker seems confident they’ll handle voice calls with great confidence.
