In the beta version of Android 14, Google added a new accessibility feature that allows users to be reminded by flashing the screen or camera LED lights when they receive notifications or alarms. This feature is similar to the LED flash reminder on Apple devices, but more flexible and personalized.
To enable this feature, users need to select the desired option in Settings > Accessibility > Flash Alerts. Users can choose to enable camera flash, screen flash, or both. Camera flash will make the rear camera’s flash blink twice when a notification is received, which is suitable for cases where the phone is locked or face down. Screen Flash turns the screen yellow and blinks twice, for when the phone is facing up.
It is noticed that users can also customize the color of the screen flash. There are 12 colors to choose from. Users can check the effect of the settings through the preview button on the lower left.
Currently, this feature is only available to users who have installed the beta version of Android 14, and Google will release the official version of Android 14 in the near future.
