Ampersand launches the ultimate compact Asterisk Tetris handheld

Handheld game consoles from Tiger Electronics and other manufacturers were a huge hit in the 1980s and 1990s. But Asterisk, which recently hit the shelves at Tindie, is dedicated to bringing a unique Tetris gaming experience using extremely lightweight, low-end components and fairly basic gameplay.

(From: Tindie Blog)

The Asterisk is equipped with an ATtiny85 microchip + 0.91-inch OLED display, four soft keys on both sides, and a single CR2032 coin cell battery to power the entire handheld.

There is a tiny power switch on the bottom edge, and the entire machine is only 1.58 inches (4 cm) wide. It is important to note that while scores are saved after a successful breakthrough. However, if the power is cut off in the middle, the score and progress will not be stored smoothly.

Asterisk is currently priced at $20+ on Tindie, but has been out of stock since July 22nd. Interested parties can register their email addresses to be added to the official restock waiting list.

Incidentally, seller Ampersand also offers several other products on Tindie, including a $60 Espresso kit for a handheld device slightly larger than a deck of cards, and a $49 kit for a 3.2-inch handheld suitable for retro gaming.
