The AMD Raider 7000 series was released at the end of August and has not yet been officially put on sale. However, computer gamers on the domestic second-hand platform Idlefish have gotten their hands on the goods early again, and have posted the R9 7950X in real life, priced at 5,999 yuan.

AMD will launch the Raidon 7000 series processors on September 27, and the idle price of RMB 5,999 ($856) is also quite a bit higher than the R9 7950X’s original price of $699, so maybe that’s the price to pay for getting it a week early.

The AMD R9 7950X is a 16-core, 32-thread processor that runs at 4.5GHz and accelerates at 5.7GHz, with a TDP of 170W and a price tag of $699 (about RMB 4,809.12), according to IT House.

According to previous data from WccfTech, the Cinebench R23 multi-core score of the 16-core, 32-thread R9 7950X with water-cooled cooling is already on par with Intel’s upcoming flagship processor, the i9-13900K, which has 24 cores and 32 threads.

In addition, on the Gigabyte X670E AORUS MASTER platform, the two CCDs of the R9-7950X ran at 5.2 / 5.1 GHz respectively, while the temperature reached 91 °C at one point, and the final single-core and multi-core scores were 787 and 15824, which is not as good as the Intel Core i7-12700K, let alone the i9-12900K / F.

The parameters and prices of the first four models of AMD’s Raider 7000 series processors are as follows:

  • R9 7950X: 16C32T, 4.5-5.7GHz, 80MB cache, 170W TDP, $699 (~RMB 4809.12)
  • R9 7900X: 12C24T, 4.7-5.6GHz, 76MB Cache, 170W TDP, $549 (approx. RMB 3777.12)
  • R7 7700X: 8C16T, 4.5-5.4GHz, 40MB cache, 105W TDP, $399 (approx. RMB 2745.12)
  • R5 7600X: 6C12T, 4.7-5.3GHz, 38MB cache, 105W TDP, $299 (~RRMB 2057.12)
