The Lenovo ThinkStation P620 workstation is the first device to use the AMD Threadripper Pro 5000WX processors. AMD announced this powerful processor line-up back in the month of March, after this launch Lenovo went on to feature it on the ThinkStation. Paring the Lenovo ThinkStation with the AMD Threadripper Pro 5000WX offers up to 25% performance improvement over previous ThinkStation generations.

The Lenovo ThinkStation P620 workstation comes in various models at different prices. The prices increase as the ability of the ThinkStation increases, the most expensive model uses the Threadripper Pro 5965WX 24-core CPU. Prices vary from about 19,000 yuan (for the base model) to 46,000 yuan (for the top speced model), all models of this device are currently on sale on the Lenovo website.

The device offers PCIe Gen 4 for increased speed across storage, memory, and graphics. Two times the L3 cache is directly accessible per core as against the previous generation CPU for reduced latency. An increase in the clock speeds up to 4.5GHz, with over 12-core 24-thread 5945WX to 64-core 128-thread 5995WX. There are also 2× NVIDIA Quadro RTX 8000 or 4× NVIDIA Quadro RTX 4000 graphics cards, as well as 1TB of memory and 20TB of storage space with 8 DIMM slots. It also supports Windows 11 Pro Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.3.
