AMD Ryzen 7000 platform wave in October: PCIe 5.0 bloodshed but cheap

AMD’s Ryzen 7000 series processors will be available at the end of this month, but the first launch on the 27th is mainly high-end platforms. The motherboards are X670E and X670 series, full of PCIe 5.0 graphics cards and SSD storage, but the price will be very expensive. Sub-high-end motherboards have plenty of stock.

Players who are not in a hurry to rush to the high-end can wait. There will be another wave in October. AMD has now confirmed that it will hold a webinar on October 4, similar to what it did at the end of July when it showed the X670E/X670 motherboard. The second focus is the B650E/650 processor, aimed at mainstream users.

According to AMD, B650 series motherboards have many limitations on PCIe 5.0. B650E motherboards can support PCIe 5.0 graphics cards and M.2 SSD hard drives, but this is not necessarily a must. AMD’s attitude is to recommend manufacturers to support PCIe 5.0 graphics cards.

As for the more mainstream B650, the graphics card is PCIe 4.0, PCIe 5.0 is cut, and the SSD of PCIe 5.0 is only optional.

In short, compared to the X670E/X670 series motherboards, the Ryzen 7000 with B650E and B650 motherboards has residual blood on PCIe 5.0, and it is a bit confusing. Which standard depends on the specific products of the motherboard manufacturer.

However, from the perspective of the current PCIe 5.0 support, mainstream users do not need to care about the difference in experience. Whether it is a PCIe 5.0 graphics card or a PCIe 5.0 SSD, even if there is a product on the market, it will not be within the choice of mainstream users. .

If you don’t worry about this, the B650 motherboard is obviously the most cost-effective choice, with functions such as overclocking, and the SATA or USB interface expandability is a little less than that of the X670E/X670. Yuan-level price is beautiful.
