AMD Ryzen 7000 no longer takes 6.6 minutes to boot 128GB DDR5, bug issue fixed

0

AMD’s Ryzen 7000 processor will be launched at the end of the month and fully support DDR5 memory. Many people will use large-capacity memory, or even direct 128GB memory. However, a strange problem has been exposed before, that is, the boot time is too long under the large-capacity memory configuration. Previously, there was such a prompt on ASRock’s X670E motherboard. The boot time required for different capacities of DDR5 is as follows:

When users use 2x16GB of DDR5 memory, it takes 100 seconds to start the first time, 200 seconds for 2x32GB of memory, 200 seconds for 4x16GB, and 400 seconds for 4x32GB, which is 6.6 minutes to complete the boot.

Although this is the first boot time after clearing the CMOS, the maximum time of 400 seconds is obviously problematic. It has caused heated discussions among netizens before, and now it should be a bug.

The news from ASRock said that the company has launched the latest BIOS, and the startup time of the AM5 platform will be reduced after the upgrade, but ASRock has not given clear data, and it is still unclear how much the startup time can be reduced.

It is less than three weeks before the launch of the Ryzen 7000 and AM5 platform motherboards. It is estimated that the manufacturer will continue to update the BIOS firmware, and some strange problems will be gradually fixed.
