AMD Ryzen 7000 Core GPU Benchmarks: Two RDNA2 CUs are better than 6 Vega CUs

The first performance benchmark results of AMD Ryzen 7000 series RDNA 2 iGPU have appeared, and it seems that the new APU will have a very good performance.

Stream saving: AMD Ryzen 7000 managed to beat 6CU (7nm, Vega) on Cezanne APU with 2CU (6nm, RDNA 2).

From the test results, the AMD Ryzen 7000 core display will be equipped with 2 computing units, a total of 128 stream processors, the core frequency is 400MHz, and the GPU frequency is 2200MHz (possibly the peak frequency), which can provide 563GFLOPs of computing power, which is higher than 500GFLOPs ( rated) the Nintendo Switch processor is slightly better.

The running score is the result of the R9 7950X with 64GB of DDR5 memory, and the four-DIMM platform, according to previous information, the rate will drop to 3600Mbps. This means lower bandwidth, so we can expect iGPU performance to be slightly higher running at normal dual channel DDR5 5600~6400.

The AMD Ryzen 7000 iGPU device ID, shown as “GFX1036”, scored 7808 on the Geekbench 5 OpenCL benchmark.

For comparison, the Vega 6 based on the new 7nm 6 CU scored 7003 points in the same benchmark, while the Vega 8 with 8 compute units was around 8000-8500 points.

That is to say, the normal performance of AMD RDNA 2 iGPU is about the same level as that of Vega 8 (R3-2200G), and it is about slightly inferior to GT1030. I don’t know if AMD will launch models with more GPU cores in the future.
