AMD reiterated at the Game Developers Conference this week that it will deliver on its promise to open source FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 (FSR3) technology.
AMD officials have not announced too many details about FSR3, only the official press team shared a press release, which is translated as follows:
"FSR3 is AMD's next-generation sampling technology still under development, integrating the Super Resolution sampling technology from FSR2, incorporating decades of research and innovation from AMD's R&D department, and introducing AMD's Fluid Motion Frames interpolation technology, which will allow games to achieve up to a 2x increase in frame rate."
FSR3 will be available to developers under an MIT license.
AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) uses advanced optimization upgrades to help increase frame rates in select games without requiring users to upgrade their graphics cards, resulting in a high-quality, high-resolution gaming experience.
