Igor’s LAB media recently reported that a workstation equipped with an AMD Radeon Pro W7600 professional graphics card had a black screen problem during use.
The outlet dug deeper and eventually identified two reasons for the problem: an inefficient cooling system and poor factory assembly.
Editor Igor Wallosek said that in the process of testing the AMD Radeon Pro W7600 professional graphics card, there were obviously abnormal instability and even black screen problems.
It is learned from the report that the main problem is the thermal pad. On the one hand, the thickness is too thick, and on the other hand, there is no strict review in the production process, which leads to the displacement of the thermal pad and the GPU chip, which cannot effectively dissipate heat.
Wallosek said the solution was also very simple, and the whole process took less than 15 minutes. He said that he only needs to replace the slightly thinner thermal pad, and re-align and apply thermal grease. Subsequent retests found that not only the GPU memory usage decreased significantly, but also the subsequent test did not encounter the black screen problem.
