The latest reports say that AMD’s recently released Radeon Adrenalin 23.2.1 graphics driver is causing Windows devices to fail to boot, forcing problems and previously unbacked-up devices to reinstall the system.
AMD released the Radeon Adrenalin 23.2.1 graphics driver on Valentine’s Day, bringing official support for Forspoken and Dead Space.
A Reddit community, Twitter social media platform, ComputerBase forum and other sites and found AMD users’ feedback that they could not access the boot disk after installing this update, resulting in the inability to boot. Users can only roll back to a previously backed-up restore point, or reinstall the system if it was not previously backed up.
The official CapFrameX Software Twitter account believes that this driver changed the BIOS settings and caused the boot failure. However, some believe that the new version of AMD’s driver is not compatible with Windows updates.
