Amazon has launched a new feature in the United States that can provide users with product review summaries generated based on artificial intelligence.
These summaries are synthesized from real user reviews and reflect consumers’ overall evaluation of the product. Users can see these summaries directly on the product page to see what other users think of the product at a glance.
The summary also highlights some product attributes, such as performance, ease of use, and stability, and puts a tick next to them to indicate that the product has these characteristics.
Amazon reiterated that it allows users to leave positive and negative reviews, but only if they are true. Amazon says it prohibits fake reviews and does its best to remove them. The new AI-generated review digest will only show highlights from trusted reviews from verified purchases, so users know what they’re reading is real.
It is noticed that the summary image shared by Amazon shows that only positive reviews are followed, but there is also a bar graph showing the number of positive and negative reviews for a product.
Amazon’s AI-generated review summaries are currently visible to some mobile shoppers in the United States, and the company has not announced when it plans to roll them out to a broader user base.
