Amazon Drive, Amazon’s cloud storage service, officially shuts down next year

The U.S. technology giant Amazon CEO Andy Jassy is actively cutting costs, and Alexa, robotics, retail, and other departments are affected. Today, Amazon announced that its cloud storage service, Amazon Drive, will be officially shut down on December 31, 2023.

The announcement was made on Amazon Drive’s official website, and Amazon has also sent emails to users of the service. IT House has learned that Amazon said it will no longer accept new file uploads from January 31, 2023, but users can continue to access files until that date, after which it will no longer support adding or modifying files.

Amazon Drive users will be able to access and download files until December 31, 2023, after which time the service will be officially shut down and Amazon Drive will not be accessible to all users.

Amazon recommends that users continue to save photos and videos to Amazon Drive and then access them through Amazon Photos. Unlike Drive, the Photos service is still up and running. Users can access uploaded images and videos on the Amazon Photos website or in the app.
