According to Bloomberg News, Amazon recently announced the discontinuation of all health and fitness Band products under the “Halo” brand. Amazon launched its first Halo Band as early as August 2020, positioning it as a low-end competitor to Apple Watch.
The original Halo Band did not come with a dial, and built-in sensors included an accelerometer, a temperature sensor, a heart rate monitor, two microphones, and an LED indicator.
Listed for $99, the Band has no GPS, WiFi, cellular connectivity, or Alexa integration, and some features require an Amazon Prime subscription to use.
Amazon followed with the Halo View, Halo Band, Halo Rise, and a host of accessories.
Amazon announced that the Halo series of Band will no longer be supported from July 31, 2023, and all customers who placed orders within the past 12 months can apply for a refund. Amazon is also urging existing Halo users to download any data they want to keep from the app by August 1.
