The Alpine A110 E-ternite is ushering the French automobile company into the electric vehicle market. Already the company has an A110 model which is fuel-driven, the major changes are just the means of power. Both models have the same build and chassis, with a few adjustments on the new electric model.
To add some spice to the design and aesthetic of this performance EV, the company adds a retractable roof. We can also say that this vehicle is a work of art as it finds itself among the list of lightest EVs in the world. To achieve this light nature the manufacturer played around with this EV which is the same as the Renault Megane E-tech.

The battery pack on the Renault Megane E-tech sits in the middle of the car’s base, like with most EVs. But Alpine took things a step forward by splitting up this battery and distributing it within the A110 E-ternite. A total of 8 packs sit at the back of the Alpine A110 E-ternite, while 4 packs sit in the front. This split helps the car maintain balance, hence retaining Alpine’s reputation for manufacturing lightweight performance cars.
The 60kWh/200kW battery on this vehicle offers a WLTP range of over 420km on a single charge. The build and design shared similarities with its fuel-driven sister model. Performance is also similar, although the A110 E-ternite offers a bit lower.
We hope to see more electric vehicles from the company in the coming years. Possibly it might choose to stick to the performance EV line for its vehicles or try branching into electric SUVs. Whatever it decides to do, the fact remains that it will see some fierce competition from other brands moving into the EV space.
