Alienware releases Nyx Controller: symmetrical joystick design with RGB light bar

At last year’s CES, Alienware launched a concept called Nyx, which can be used as a large game server at home, allowing players to play PC games on almost any screen. At this year’s CES 2023, Alienware introduced a new controller for this concept, which is very different from the one shown last year.

The front of the Alienware Nyx gamepad looks like a mashup of a Steam controller and a PlayStation 5 DualSense controller. It features a symmetrical rocker design, while the touchpad sits where the traditional D-pad would go. There are standard A, B, X, Y buttons, as well as left and right shoulder buttons and triggers. The alien head logo in the middle is the fingerprint reader.

According to the Nyx concept, players can use the handle to log in to a specific game or just load their own game library. There are two back buttons on the back of the handle, which can be used to remap all the front buttons and support customization.

In addition, the handle is equipped with a “self-adjusting variable resistance rocker”, and players can customize the strength of the rocker. There are also two scroll wheels on the bottom of the handle for navigating through long menus, etc. Both the bottom RGB light bar and the button part can be customized in color, and the lights can also be turned off by themselves. The handle uses the Type-C interface for charging.
