AirPods Pro 2 production details, may not get the USB-C upgrade

According to the leaks and rumors a few weeks back, it was insinuated that Apple is preparing for a big change to convert most of its devices from Lightning to USB-C. Some of Apple’s devices have already gone through the change; like the new iPads and the MacBooks. But the company has been reluctant to the switch completely. Now, it seems like the upcoming AirPods Pro 2 will not be getting the USB-C treatment.

According to the new information provided by the famed analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the AirPods Pro 2 is unlikely to switch from Lightning to USB-C. Kuo also clarifies that this information is not concrete but a personal prediction. Previously, Kuo has claimed that Apple is testing the new iPhone 15 series with USB-C. So, it is likely that a change is coming but it may not be this year’s Apple products. Possibly, the AirPods 4 will get USB-C.

Prediction Tweet by Ming-Chi Kuo

According to the reports, Apple is also switching the AirPods Pro 2’s production from China to Vietnam. Kuo has said that this sudden change is due to the relatively simple supply chain and Vietnam’s better production environment.

It is rumored that the AirPods pro 2 will enter production later this year and will be launched alongside the new iPhone 14 series in September.

According to the reports, the iPhone 14 series will consist of four devices. but this year, Apple has finally taken the decision of eliminating the notch design that was adopted with the iPhone X. The notch is replaced by a pill-shaped cutout. But the regular variants will still feature the notch.

The base model and the pro model will feature a 6.1″ display. While the Max variants will feature a 6.7″ screen. This year iPhone is also getting two different chips. The pro models are getting the A16 Bionic chip and others will use the A15 Bionic chip. The price will start at $799 for the base model and end at $1199 for the Pro Max model.
