ADATA launches NeonStorm PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD and other new products

ADATA has recently launched a new PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD codenamed Project NeonStorm under the gaming brand XPG (Xtreme Performance Gear), in addition to the Legend 970 SSD.

The highlight of these SSDs is the separate water cooling module and two fans that minimize the impact of overheating and performance degradation of high-speed SSDs.

Both of these SSDs feature PCIe 5.0 x4 interfaces for maximum data transfer speeds on the latest AMD and Intel platforms.

The NeonStorm project added a separate water cooling system to the ADATA M.2 2280 SSD to directly cool the main controller and NAND chips. The aluminum heat pipes and small reservoir can be seen in the image provided.

To enhance cooling, ADATA has also installed fans at both ends and its device is fully autonomous and does not require connection to an external LSS. ADATA says the SSDs offer sequential read and write speeds of 14 GB/s and 12 GB/s, respectively.

The Legend 970 SSD has a traditional design, but ADATA says it can achieve 10 GB/s sequential read and write speeds thanks to a cast aluminium heatsink and larger fan compared to its predecessor.
