Huawei Mate 50 series will go on sale on 21 September. The series is currently available for pre-order at full price, demand still exceeds supply. The Mate 50 series will be available for sale at the same time as the Mate 50 series, with a 5G communication case created by Digital Source Technology, which will allow 4G phones to use 5G networks by way of a “plug-in”.
Today, according to digital blogger “Wanted Pundit”, the entire Huawei Mate 50 lineup has been fitted with 5G communication cases, with the Mate 50E and Mate 50 communication cases being universally available, and the Mate 50 Pro being fitted separately, while the Mate 50 RS Porsche version may be available later.
As for the price, according to China Telecom’s terminal product library, the Mate 50 Communication Case Kit retails for RMB 6,498 and the Mate 50 Pro Kit for RMB 7,798.
Compared to the Mate 50 handset price, the kit is RMB 999 more expensive, meaning that the price for the communication case alone could be 999 RMB, although it is not known if that price is the final selling price. For reference, the Huawei P50 Pro is priced at RMB 799 for a 5G communication case.
It’s worth noting that in June this year, digital blogger “Factory Manager is Guan” said that if the news is correct, the communication case will be available for all 4G models of Mate 40, nova9 and nova10.
