According to Great Wall Motors’ official public account, Great Wall Motors’ KD plant in Pakistan recently welcomed the 3,000th Haval H6 HEV model off the production line one year after it was put into production, achieving the first place in the local new energy vehicle market share.
In the first phase of the project, the assembly of two SUV models, Haval H6/H6 HEV and Haval JOLION (Note: known as “Haval First Love” in China), among which Haval H6 HEV is Pakistan’s first locally assembled new energy vehicle .
In addition, Pakistan’s new energy penetration rate for passenger vehicles increased to 2.3% from 0% last year. According to PAMA (Pakistan Automobile Manufacturers Association) data, Pakistan’s passenger car market is expected to sell less than 100,000 units this year, the lowest level in the past 20 years.
In November last year, Great Wall Motors’ KD factory in Pakistan was officially put into operation, with a planned production capacity of 20,000 vehicles per year. The factory has become another important overseas KD factory for Great Wall Motors after Ecuador, Malaysia, Tunisia and other places.
According to previous reports, Great Wall Motors entered the Pakistani market in October 2021 through the export model of complete vehicles, launching the third-generation Haval H6 and Haval JOLION locally.
