Lexus announced that the 2024 GX will arrive at U.S. dealers early next year, with a starting price of $64,250. That’s a significant increase from the previous generation’s $60,225 price tag.
In June this year, the new Lexus GX made its debut. This is a hardcore off-road SUV based on the GA-F platform, with redesigned exterior and interior. At this year’s Guangzhou Auto Show, the new Lexus GX also made its domestic debut and is expected to be launched domestically in January 2024. For reference, the guide price of the 2015 Lexus GX, which has been discontinued in China, is 848,000 yuan.
The new Lexus GX is offered in six trim levels in the U.S.: Premium, Premium+, Luxury, Luxury+, Overtrail and Overtrail+. These models are equipped with LED headlights, 20-inch or 22-inch rims, 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, 14-inch central control screen, Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 driver assistance system and other configurations. The differences between different models mainly lie in interior materials, seat functions, sunroof types, sound systems, etc. Among them, the Overtrail and Overtrail + models are specially designed for off-road use, with 18-inch rims, all-terrain tires, black appearance packages, etc., making them more suitable for off-road driving.
The new Lexus GX also has two power system options. One is a 3.5-liter V6 twin-turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 260 kilowatts and a maximum torque of 649 Nm. It is matched with a 10-speed automatic transmission and a full-time four-wheel drive system. It can accelerate to 60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 6.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 175 mph (282 km/h). In addition, the Overtrail model is also equipped with a rear differential lock; the other is a 2.4T engine hybrid system matched with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Specific performance data has not yet been announced.
