According to the latest report released by the screen supply chain consulting company DSCC, global OLED panel shipments in the second quarter of 2023 will be 170 million units, an increase of 10% quarter-on-quarter and a year-on-year decrease of 2%.
The report believes that the quarter-on-quarter has seen growth for several consecutive quarters, indicating that the inventory of OLED panels has begun to rebalance. In terms of OLED smartphone panels, shipments increased by 4% month-on-month and 1% year-on-year; TV panels increased by 42% month-on-month and decreased by 26% year-on-year.
When it comes to smartphone brands, OLED panel shipments of Honor, vivo, and OPPO have all increased, but Apple and Samsung are still the main brands of OLED panels.
According to the report, due to weak sales of iPhone 14 Pro models, in the second quarter of 2023, Apple’s OLED panel shipments fell from 39% in the first quarter to 32%. Total OLED panel purchases fell 15% quarter-on-quarter and increased 12% year-on-year.
Samsung’s market share was 23%, down from 26% in the first quarter of 2023, down 9% quarter-on-quarter and 1% year-on-year.
Xiaomi’s shipments accounted for 7.4%, higher than 6.7% in the first quarter of 2023; Honor brand OLED panel shipments accounted for 6%, higher than 3% in the first quarter of 2023; vivo brand OLED shipments accounted for The share is 5%, up from 4% in the first quarter of 2023.
