August 2, 2023 – The winners of the 16th IPPA Photography Awards (iPhone Photography Awards) have been announced, and the grand prize winner is Ivan Silva from Mexico, who won with his iPhone 12 Pro shot “Heroe”.


In an official statement, the judges said
We especially want to congratulate this year's grand prize winner, Ivan Silva from Mexico. We applaud his unique perspective and scene in "Heroe" for his unique teenage image of a young boy feeling on top of the world.
The competition is open to photographers worldwide who use an iPhone or iPad, with 17 categories including Abstract, Animals, Architecture, Children, City Life, Environment, Landscape, Lifestyle, Nature, People, Portrait, Series, Still Life, Sunset, Travel, and Other.
In addition to the Grand Prize, the 16th IPPA Photography Awards 2023 also announced three Photographers of the Year.
Thea Mihu of Germany won first place for “Soy Sauce Village,” shot on an iPhone 12 Pro Max, which the judges said “uses a formal approach to enhance the solitude and focus of the photo.

The second Photographer of the Year was Bosnia’s Sasa Borozan, who shot Taming Waves on an iPhone 13 Pro.

In third place is Derek Haig of the U.S., who shot Tucson Morning with an iPhone X.
